Catholicscope - The name of this one saint must be familiar in our ears. The story of Mary Magdalene we can read in the Gospels. Mary Magdalene came from Magdala, near the Sea of Galilee.
By later Christian tradition, she was identified with Mary of Bethany, sister of Martha and Lazaurus. Some people knew her as a great sinner when she first encountered Jesus.
Mary Magdalene has a beauty that amazes people. She was also proud of its beauty. But after meeting Jesus, she is sorry for her evil life.
When Jesus went to the house of a rich man named Simon for a banquet, Mary Magdalene came and wept at His feet. Then, with her long, beautiful hair, she dried Jesus' legs and oiled them with costly perfume.
The people who saw this event were amazed that Jesus let a sinner like Mary Magdalene touch Him. Jesus can see into Mary's heart.
Jesus said, "Her many sins have been forgiven, for she has done a great deal of love." Jesus said to Mary. "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace. "
Since then, along with other holy women, Mary Magdalene humbly served Jesus and His apostles. When Jesus was crucified, Mary was there; under the foot of the cross.
She lived there with the Blessed Virgin Mary and St John without fear of her own salvation. Mary Magdalene is said to be the first to see Jesus after rising from the grave (John 20: 11-18).
There are several different versions of the life of Mary Magdalene after the resurrection of Jesus. The Orthodox Tradition claims she went to Ephesus with the Blessed Virgin Mary and stayed there for the rest of her life. The relics were moved to Constantinople in 886 and buried there.
The French tradition says that Mary Magdalene, Lazarus, and some of Jesus' companions came to Marseilles, France, evangelized and Christianized the whole of Provence.
They retired and lived as hermits until her death at La Sainte-Baume. Every July 22, the Church commemorates the celebration of St Mary Magdalene.

As a Croatian, Father Simunovic wants to see his country lift the World Cup for the first time. He did not want to miss the dream.
So, what he did was willing to shorten the sermon in the celebration of the Eucharist in order to watch the final game.
"I can tell you that the sermon will be very short," Simunovic said with a laugh, before the Eucharistic celebration took place.
Father Simunovic said that he was one of the most happy people when watching Croatia beat England in the semi-finals to appear in the 2018 World Cup Final.
"It's an achievement everyone wants to see, but it's hard to believe because the competition is really very difficult," he said.
Simunovic said soccer is the most popular sport in Croatia. According to the priest who is now in charge of the Parish of St. Regina, the St. Basil Catholic Church of the Ukrainian rite in Canada this Croatians are very fond of playing soccer times.
Therefore, as a Croat he hopes that Croatia can beat France to lift the World Cup trophy for the first time.
"Croatia is a small European country with four million inhabitants, and we say we have four million coaches as well," Father Simunovic said.
Father Simunovic acknowledged that France is a stronger and more favored team. "But anything can happen. Let's cheer for Croatia, "he said.
But in the final match last night, Croatia finally had to recognize the superiority of France. They also had to give up the trophy that had been coveted belonged to France after defeated by France with a score of 4-2.
What sort of reaction did Pastor Simunovic think? Will he return to extend his sermon at next week's Mass, as Croatia lose and the World Cup title is over?

Catholicscope - There are many quotes shared by the pope Francis. But now, we’re only talking about quotes related to the atmosphere of life shared by him.
We hope that you will be inspired or motivated to continue living your life. You must listen carefully and meditate on it in your heart.
1. About giving
“Life is a precious gift, but we realize this only when we give it to others”
Important to remember that giving doesn't always feel great. The opposite could very well be true: Giving can make us feel depleted and taken advantage of. Whatever happened to you, don't stop to giving like the pope says.
2. About give up
“When we want to give up, God helps us persevere”
When we get a big problem, we are depressed and then decide to give up. Don't do that, you have to run to Jesus, tell him about your feelings.
3. About difficult times
“We have a Lord who is capable of crying with us, capable of walking with us in the most difficult moments of life”
Life has a way of kicking us when we’re down. And just when we think we can’t fall any lower, we get kicked again. So, follow the words from pope Francis and entrust your life to God
4. About journey of life
“Life is a journey. When we stop, things don't go right.”
Life is about living. You can't know everything that is going to happen before it happens. Our life sometimes not gone as we planned it, but like it or not we must enjoy every part of it.
5. About feel insecure with your ability
“If we start without confidence, we have already lost half the battle and we bury our talents”
If we see someone who has more abilities than us, we feel small and not confident. In this situation, you need to remember the quotations of pope Francis.
6. When someone criticizes you
“No one can grow if he does not accept his smallness”
Life will not escape criticism. If you are criticized by someone who hates you, forgive him and accept that. Make criticism a form of inspiration for your life.

When elected as Bishop of Pangkalpinang, Bishop Adrianus OFM admitted to receiving congratulations from Father Budi.
"He sent his congratulations, and I said, 'I can not teach anymore,'" said Bishop Adrianus. Hearing that, Father Paul Budi said, "Bishop is now teaching for all dioceses."
Bishop Adrianus OFM arrived in Germany in 1996, then a year of language learning. He studied with Father Budi from 1997 to 2000.
"We studied the same dogmatic theology, guided by the same professor," he said.
This event of faith becomes the testimony and hope that the best Catholic sons of Indonesia will fly to different parts of the world to proclaim the Gospel.
We pray that the Holy Spirit will guide and enlighten Father Budi Kleden so as to lead the SVD according to God's will.

Catholicscope - Home is where we live every day. A safe home keeps people in it comfortable. In order for your home to be safe, at least 3 spiritual objects must be in your house.
That is, as far as possible these spiritual things are always in your house because they have the power to dispel evil.
As Catholics, we believe that blessed spiritual things can be a protector for believers when using them.
We have already discussed the spiritual objects referred to here in the article on the sacramentals. As a reminder, you can read it again here.
Now we will discuss three spiritual things that have the power to overcome evil. Therefore, these 3 spiritual objects must be in your house. Thus you can be safe and secure living in your own home.
1. Holy water
Each Easter Eve we receive holy water from the church. The holy water is definitely blessed by the priest. This holy water has tremendous power to overcome evil.
Therefore, make sure that in your house there is holy water that you can take advantage of at any time. Remember, as reported by Aleteia.org, holy water reminds us of our baptism; the moment in which we are raised to be children of God.
2. The blessed salt
Many people may not be familiar with this. But there is no harm in asking your parish priest to bless salt and you can save in your home.
The blessed salt has a tremendous power to dispel evil. Therefore do not underestimate this one spiritual object.
You must have heard that in the prayer of exorcism or exorcism, many used the salt as a medium to cast out demons.
3. Cross
The cross is not a new spiritual object for Catholics. In Catholic homes we can easily find a cross installed in the living room or private room.
For those of you who do not have it, you should immediately buy and install in your home. The cross symbolizes the presence of Christ who had overcome death and wickedness when He rose from the grave.
So it would be great if in Catholic homes there is a cross as a symbol of Christ's presence. Also, as our identity as Catholics.
These are the 3 spiritual things that must be in your house to keep your home safe and secure and avoid any danger. But remember that to complement the presence of these spiritual objects, you are also asked to always do private prayer and confession.
