"The needs of today's young people are often ignored. Many people are busy talking about things that are not basic, do not target the needs of the people, "Pidyarto said at a meeting of the Java Regional Diocese Student Pastoral Forum, Monday-Wednesday, 25-27 / 2 at Samadi St. Retreat House, Malang, East Java.
The meeting, which carried the theme "Yes U Can," was also attended by nine priests, and five assistants. Aside from Pidyarto, Father Yohanes Driyanto, Kapelan Pastor Student, appeared as a speaker.
Father Driyanto spoke about the existence of a student Church that is part of the diocese. What the students did, according to Father Driyanto, should not be separated from the role of the Church, both the parish and the rector.
"It is important that the pastoral focus of the students is under the right guidance. Students need a moving spirit, "he said.
In this meeting, the students agreed to return to knitting clear coordination between the Church and students.
The meeting also agreed on a number of fundamental decisions including the role of students as a driver for the life of faith in the campus world.
At present the Indonesian Church is concentrating on the apostolate of young people. The Church believes that the future of the apostolate of the Indonesian Catholic Church is in the hands of young people.
Therefore, they must get physical and spiritual assistance so that they are mentally ready to face the challenges ahead.
Every parish in each diocese is expected to be able to find apostolic models that are suitable and typical for young people so that they feel comfortable in the church environment.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
2. Proverbs 6:32
But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself.

Catholicscope - Of the many prayers that are often prayed by Catholics,
there are at least 5 prayers sourced from the Bible or the Holy Bible. The
prayers are clearly recorded in the Scriptures.
But this doesn't mean that only these five prayers are
sourced from the Bible. There are still other prayer which also comes from the
Bible. We chose 5 this prayer because we often hear or most widely recited by
Catholics.

But remember, of these five prayers, there are two
prayers associated with total submission to God. That is, the two prayers
contain elements of submission of Catholics to God.
1. The Lord's Prayer
It's certain that the first prayer that comes from the
Bible is the Lord's Prayer. This prayer is even taught by Jesus directly to His
disciples, as well as to us.
The Lord's Prayer is touted as the most perfect prayer
and is recommended to be prayed by all Catholics. The Biblical basis of the
Lord's Prayer is Matthew 6: 9-13 or Luke 11: 2-4.
2. Jonah’s Prayer
Do you remember the story of prophet Jonah? He was a
prophet swallowed up by a fish for three days for against God's commands.
The Jonah's prayer is one of God's compassionate requests
because we often against his commandments.
The Scripture verse that speaks of this prayer of Jonah
is Jonah 2: 2-9. So, don't forget to pray like prophet Jonah, cause sometimes
we also against Gods command.
3. Hannah's prayer
Hana is one of the prominent figures in the Old Testament
Scriptures. He is the mother of Samuel who spent all his life living in the
God's house.
Hannah's perseverance in praying and praising God's great
works can be an inspiration to us as Catholics. Hana's praise prayer can be
found in the passage 1 Samuel 2: 1-10.
Two Prayers of Submission
In addition to the above mentioned three prayers that
have biblical foundations, there are two other prayers sourced from Scripture
as well. And, these two prayers are very thick with expressions of submission
to God.
4. Mary's Hymn of Praise: Magnificat
Magnificat or also
often known by the praise of Mary is a prayer of praise that describes the
surrender of Mary to God. This prayer is very popular among the Legion of Mary.
You can find this Praise of Mary on Luke 1: 46-56. don't
forget to bring mother Mary on whole your life.
5. Simeon's Song
The Song of Simeon
is one of the prayers of submission to God. The aged Simeon expressed his joy
in old age after meeting the baby Jesus. This Simeon's Song can be found on
Luke 2: 29-32. If you do not have a Bible, you can use Bible guides online at

Given the 2018 World Cup Final which took place yesterday, to coincide with Sunday, Father Vladimir Simunovic must divide his time between leading Sunday's Eucharistic celebrations and watching the World Cup Final.
As a Croatian, Father Simunovic wants to see his country lift the World Cup for the first time. He did not want to miss the dream.
So, what he did was willing to shorten the sermon in the celebration of the Eucharist in order to watch the final game.
"I can tell you that the sermon will be very short," Simunovic said with a laugh, before the Eucharistic celebration took place.
Father Simunovic said that he was one of the most happy people when watching Croatia beat England in the semi-finals to appear in the 2018 World Cup Final.
"It's an achievement everyone wants to see, but it's hard to believe because the competition is really very difficult," he said.
Simunovic said soccer is the most popular sport in Croatia. According to the priest who is now in charge of the Parish of St. Regina, the St. Basil Catholic Church of the Ukrainian rite in Canada this Croatians are very fond of playing soccer times.
Therefore, as a Croat he hopes that Croatia can beat France to lift the World Cup trophy for the first time.
"Croatia is a small European country with four million inhabitants, and we say we have four million coaches as well," Father Simunovic said.
Father Simunovic acknowledged that France is a stronger and more favored team. "But anything can happen. Let's cheer for Croatia, "he said.
But in the final match last night, Croatia finally had to recognize the superiority of France. They also had to give up the trophy that had been coveted belonged to France after defeated by France with a score of 4-2.
What sort of reaction did Pastor Simunovic think? Will he return to extend his sermon at next week's Mass, as Croatia lose and the World Cup title is over?

Catholicscope - There are many quotes shared by the pope Francis. But now, we’re only talking about quotes related to the atmosphere of life shared by him.
We hope that you will be inspired or motivated to continue living your life. You must listen carefully and meditate on it in your heart.
1. About giving
“Life is a precious gift, but we realize this only when we give it to others”
Important to remember that giving doesn't always feel great. The opposite could very well be true: Giving can make us feel depleted and taken advantage of. Whatever happened to you, don't stop to giving like the pope says.
2. About give up
“When we want to give up, God helps us persevere”
When we get a big problem, we are depressed and then decide to give up. Don't do that, you have to run to Jesus, tell him about your feelings.
3. About difficult times
“We have a Lord who is capable of crying with us, capable of walking with us in the most difficult moments of life”
Life has a way of kicking us when we’re down. And just when we think we can’t fall any lower, we get kicked again. So, follow the words from pope Francis and entrust your life to God
4. About journey of life
“Life is a journey. When we stop, things don't go right.”
Life is about living. You can't know everything that is going to happen before it happens. Our life sometimes not gone as we planned it, but like it or not we must enjoy every part of it.
5. About feel insecure with your ability
“If we start without confidence, we have already lost half the battle and we bury our talents”
If we see someone who has more abilities than us, we feel small and not confident. In this situation, you need to remember the quotations of pope Francis.
6. When someone criticizes you
“No one can grow if he does not accept his smallness”
Life will not escape criticism. If you are criticized by someone who hates you, forgive him and accept that. Make criticism a form of inspiration for your life.

Father F.X Widyatmoko SJ (left) was celebrating the Mass (Catholicscope) |
Catholicscope - Young scholar Nahdlatul Ulama, Savic Ali, said halal bi halal reinvigorated the importance of unity.
"This is an opportunity to build bridges, especially new groups that may be connected now," he said, while giving a speech in the event at Yos Sudarso Building, St. Anna Duren Sawit Church, East Jakarta, Sunday, 1/7.
Halal bi halal across religions, Savic added, could be a model for building bridges among fellow citizens and caring for the fellow children of the nation.
Moreover, according to him, currently there are about 17 to 18 percent of Indonesian youth have been exposed to radicalism and hate speech to speak to others who are different from their class.
Director General of Catholic Bimas Eusabius Binsasi, he said, the unity and unity of Indonesia
recently got the spotlight from other countries. They, Eusibius explained, were amazed by this country because it was zealous to build tolerance amidst diversity.
Indonesia has a very strong tradition where interfaith people can meet each other and celebrate religious festivals together. This is Indonesia's wealth that should not be forgotten.
By meeting and greeting each other, we can establish intimacy with each other. This is the key to taking care of Indonesia as a country we love very much.
Halal bi halal, he added, became an opportunity to attach the knot of harmony and peace together. "Halal bi halal is not only Muslim tradition, but all non-Muslim circles," he said.
The head of Parish Duren Sawit, Father F. X Widyatmoko SJ, suggested that the activity will continue to build and strengthen the bridge of unity. The gathering, he argues, is an urgent need in the midst of a nation that is rocked by a number of hate and violent acts.
We are expected to actively destroy the peace, starting from our respective dwellings. That is one of our most tangible contributions to preserving Indonesia's diversity.
Indonesia will not be a great nation if we still put our ego and group first. Precisely together with others, other religions, other tribes, we will become a strong nation.
