1. A heart that is always grateful
Colossians 2:7 – Rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
Colossians 3:15 - Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
2. Be thankful for everything
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 -Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Hebrews12:28 - Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.
3. Be Thankful for God's faithfulness
Psalm 136:25-26 - He gives food to every creature. Give thanks to the God of heaven.
Psalm 86:12-13 - I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.
Psalm 69:30-31 - I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. This will please the Lord more than an ox,more than a bull with its horns and hooves.
4. Be Thanksful in our prayer
Hebrews 12:28-29 - Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire”.
Psalm 30:3-4 - You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit. Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.
5. Be Thankful for the joy
Hebrews 13:14-16 - For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Psalm 30:11-12 - You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever.
These are Bible verses that teach us how to give thanks to God. Read and apply it in your prayers.
